Silverplated bracelet featuring some of the Matchwomen of 1888
A stunning charm bracelet featuring the faces of some of the brave young Matchwomen who were amongst the 1400 who walked out on strike for better pay and conditions from Bryant & May in the summer of 1888. Their story is told in the acclaimed book by Louise Raw "Striking a Light" (available here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Striking-Light-Bryant-Matchwomen-History/dp/1441114262).
The young women would wear high heel boots and large hats trimmed with feathers, which they bought and shared through communal Feather Clubs, hence the feather charms.
Every piece we make is unique, and made to order, so the bracelet you receive may have slightly different beads/charms but all to the same theme. We will send you a photo of your very own completed bracelet before we post it to you. Everything is handmade to order therefore please allow up to 7 business days for completion of your very own piece.
We also do custom pieces to order, so if you are wanting something else, made with a different theme in mind just get in touch and we can make a piece up to your specifications :-) (email; [email protected])
A Little Note about SHIPPING - PLEASE READ!!! We send our parcels within the UK by 1st Class post (£2) or Special Delivery Next Day (£6.50). We send parcels to countries outside the UK by International Tracked (£8.50).
Please remember that deliveries outside the UK are in most cases received in about 7 to 10 days but occasionally they do take longer. Sometimes they get 'stuck' in your country's Customs but thankfully this does not happen often. If it does though, please be a little patient and be prepared to give it a few weeks.
