Frederick Douglass was an African-American who was born a slave in Talbot County, Maryland, USA around 1818 and escaped at the age of 20 and went on to become a social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, and statesman. This is a bronzeplated necklace with a round pendant featuring one of Frederick Douglass' quotes (approx 25mm across) covered with a glass dome "To suppress free speech is a double wrong. It violates the rights of the hearer as well as those of the speaker".
